Over 98% of its products are exported, with the United States and Japan as the main export countries. Planmed devotes a great deal of effort to research and product development, the costs of which amount to approximately 10% of turnover. The company works in association with universities, research institutes and hospitals. Founded in 1989, Planmed belongs to the Planmeca Group of Finland, comprising several high-standard manufacturers of medical and dental equipment.
