Design Forum Finland at Stockholm Design Week

Design Forum Finland will take Finnish design to Stockholm Design Week 2.–8.2.2015. The winner of the Kaj Franck Design Prize 2014, designer Harri Koskinen will show his works in the Finnish Institute in Stockholm. Just around the corner is WE LIVE HERE, an exhibition and event space presenting Finnish and Icelandic contemporary design.

Harri Koskinen is one of the most successful and renowned Finnish contemporary designers. He has received several noteworthy design prizes, including the Compasso d'Oro in 2004 and one of the world's biggest design accolades, the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize, worth SEK 1 million, in 2009. The Kaj Franck Design Prize is awarded annually to a designer or team innovatively creating both high-quality industrial design and unique, one-off works. The winners of the prize represent comprehensively top Finnish design. The prize exhibition is an extensive review to Koskinen's latest works.

WE LIVE HERE is a joint project of Design Forum Finland and Iceland Design Centre. Its aim is to find new ways of cooperation for design promotion. In Stockholm this has been realized as an apartment hosting Icelandic and Finnish design. The collection has been selected by Hlin Helga Gudlaugsdóttir of Iceland and Elina Aalto and Marika Tesolin of Finland. Furniture and interior items on show will represent the most interesting contemporary design from both countries. New launches will also be included, along with Swedish design.

The apartment will double as an event space and an exhibition space. The program includes press events, design discussions, a meeting of Nordic and Baltic design organizations, events organized by projects partners and various networking occasions from early morning until late night. The exhibition WE LIVE HERE will also be open to the public.

WE LIVE HERE is a continuation to previous joint projects of Design Forum Finland and Iceland Design Centre. Codesign of Sweden will be a cooperative partner in the project, with Sanna Gebeyehu working as a creative consultant. The visual identity of the project is by Siggi Odds from Iceland. The WE LIVE HERE project will be executed in cooperation with Svensk Form, Stockholm Design Week and Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair. The project has received funding from Nordic Culture Fund and Nordic Culture Point / KreaNord.
