    The most successful companies make use of design – Fennia Prize Grand Prix to Merivaara

The results of the Fennia Prize 2017 design competition, announced on Thursday 19 January 2017, explicitly indicate that the use of design brings advantage in international success and helps create a strong and distinctive brand. The Fennia Prize Grand Prix of €10,000 is awarded to Merivaara Corporation, a company that has made use of design in its product development for several years.

    The Kaj Franck Design Prize 2015 winner Markku Salo at Habitare

    The Kaj Franck Design Prize of 2015, awarded by Design Forum Finland, was given last November to designer, glass artist Markku Salo. The colourful prize exhibition, displaying Salo's oeuvre, will be on show at Habitare furniture, interior decoration and design fair 7–11 September 2016. The Kaj Franck Design Prize is one of the most notable design prizes in Finland and was awarded for the 24th time in 2015.

    Fennia Prize, founded by the national design promotion organization Design Forum Finland, is Finland's most eminent design competition where a company or organization can be awarded for exemplary use of design as part of its business operations. The registration for the competition opens on Mon 16 May and the results will be published in February 2017.

    Design Director Anne Stenros receives the Gold Estlander Medal

    The Finnish Society of Crafts and Design / Design Forum Finland awards its distinction, the Estlander Medal, in the occasion of its 140th anniversary. The Gold Estlander Medal is given to Design Director, Professor Anne Stenros. The medal was presented in the anniversary seminar of the Society at Ateneum on the 29th of October 2015.
