CTRL CTRL or Control, anything goes. Street culture: skateboards, clothes, a website with a blog, a virtual community for the like-minded. Finnish Freeman designs the strongly visual CTRL brand. The clothing collection includes T-shirts, hoodies, jeans, backpacks and now also dresses and leggings for girls. Skateboard designs are a collection of images and visual elements, intentionally random and ”bad”. Street credibility comes from comparisons and contrasts. www.ctrlclothing.com www.freeman.fi < CTRL clothing Photo: Mikko Ryhänen |

HANNA SARÉN The first time Hanna Sarén hit headlines was when shoes she had designed were seen on an episode of Sex and the City, worn by shoe freak Carrie. Sarén studied footwear design, because she sees shoes as combining design and fashion. Today she designs clothing as well. Her designs emphasize cut, fit, and unique detailing. Hanna Sarén was one of the first small independent and innovative labels to come from Finland. The target audience is urban creative professionals, and about 70% of Hanna Sarén’s production is exported. www.hannasaren.com < Fall Winter 06-07 Photo: Joanna Moorhouse |
