Durat is one of the most experienced manufacturers of solid surface materials in Europe. The privately owned company was established in 1990 to develop a new sustainable building material. The leading idea of the company has been from the start to combine recycling and design. The manufacturing facilities of Durat are located in southwestern Finland nearby Turku, and, since 2008, in Ganzhou, Jianxi Province, China. DESIGN OFFICE ANTTI KOTILAINEN
In his work, designer Antti Kotilainen has mainly focused on furniture. In addition to this, Design Office Antti Kotilainen also designs items for daily use as well as visual concepts for commercial purposes. In order to provide the client with a solid and consistent image, he uses a spectrum of tools ranging from graphic to spatial design.
Antti Kotilainen has designed furniture for Scandinavian manufacturers since 1993. Starting in 2000, he has mainly co-operated with the furniture company Piiroinen. Since 2002, his items of furniture have been included in the collection of the American furniture company Knoll.
The furniture by Antti Kotilainen has been widely recognized and his work has been presented in several Finnish and international expositions. His products have been used in furnishing public spaces worldwide, including various companies, universities and cultural establishments. They have found place in numerous European countries, USA, Australia and Japan.
