AVARTE

Avarte was founded in 1980. It picked up the successful collection of Yrjö Kukkapuro that dates back until the 1960s as a base and has been developing it onward with new designers since then.

These and others museums have taken Avarte furniture into their permanent collections: Museum of Modern Art in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Gothenburg in Copenhagen, Museum of Industrial Art in Helsinki and the National Museum in Stockholm.

The collection of Avarte is hybrid with a tendency towards the contract market. Avarte products have the functional ability to be used in contract surroundings and the emotional ability to be used also in residential surroundings. The usage focus is on communication areas and collaborative spaces. Typical scenarios are: Conference rooms, auditorium, training- and meeting areas, breakout zones, multi functional spaces, lounges, corporate dining and cantines, informal communication, informal meeting and waiting areas.

Kasino A4

Kasino is the group behind the Kasino A4 magazine, which launched in December 2005 and was ended with the tenth issue in October 2009 to make way for something new. The Kasino team is currently working on a new magazine to be premiered in 2010. Dubbed as ”The Most Melancholy Magazine”, Kasino A4 received various international accolades including being named one of the ten best independent style magazines in the world in 2008 and being awarded the Golden Award for Publication Design in the Vuoden Huiput—Best of the Year 2008 competition.

The magazine is known for its uncompromising style, sharp look, own voice, human touch and wit. Besides the magazine Kasino creates all kinds of quality creations from record cover concepts, music videos, fanzines on seminars or business cards. Creative Director Pekka Toivonen, Photographer Jussi Puikkonen, Editor Jonathan Mander and Producer Antti Routto makes up Kasino’s core team, which collaborates with its broad talent pool on various projects.
